Those Who Dare The Rain, See The Sight Of The Rainbow

Sitting in my room, sipping a cup of hot chocolate, I noticed the raindrops gushing down from the clouds. The raindrops trickling down the edge of my window reminded me that each individual raindrop has its own destiny forged beforehand.

A raindrop could dissolve in the puddle and become a part of nature. A raindrop could settle as a dewdrop on the beautiful Buttercups. A raindrop could rest in the mouth of an Oyster and gain a new identity of a ‘Pearl’.

The free raindrops reminded me of the free people and citizens passing through tough times where all ‘hope’ is lost and joyful times when ‘hope’ is as bright as the Sun, eventually reaching their forged milestone and destiny.

As rightly quoted by Alexande Pope

“Happy the man whose wish and care.

A few paternal acres inbound.

Content to breathe his native air in his own ground”

This portrays a free person who is proud to live in his country as he is not only independent and free physically, he is also free mentally.

We may seem free physically at first glance, but the melancholic truth is that mentally, we are all in shackles- ‘shackles of technology’, ‘shackles of stress’, ‘shackles of acceptance’ and ‘shackles of narrow domestic walls.’

We are bound by technology which is slowly covering us in a cocoon disconnecting us from the world. The urge to check Social Media as soon as we get up is irresistible and our instincts provoke us to look at gadgets whenever we have an opportunity.

Is this the type of evolution of freedom man wanted?

Certainly Not!

This shows that we are being manipulated and are in shackles of technology.

We are engrossed in the shackles of social acceptance. People are more worried about how many likes they get on Social Media instead of leading a free life.

Even though, India is a free country, We, the citizens of India are in the shackles of corruption that is spreading like wild fire and becoming uncontrollable with every moment passing by.

To be a Butterfly and flutter the independent wings, one must be willing to leave the stage of the Caterpillar.

It is a ‘clarion call’ for humanity that we must leave behind the shackles of technology, craze for social acceptance and corruption. To reach the pinnacle of success, we need to hone our skills and weave our way out of the cocoon.
